Time is running out! Social workers of all specialties are invited to register now to join close to 150 social workers for cutting-edge professional development May 1-3 at the 2025 Live-Virtual Annual Conference of the NASW Virginia and Metro DC chapters. You’ll earn 20.5 CEs learning the latest research, best practices, and emerging, advanced, and foundational issues in social work—all from the comfort of your home or office.
Attendees at the sister In-Person Conference in March raved about the 36 sessions and five keynotes offered—nearly all of which will be repeated online and with live interactive chat to allow for plenty of discussion and Q&A.
“I loved that I was able to connect with so many social workers through the app,” said one first-time attendee.
The conference is a “great opportunity to meet others, get reenergized, affirm practice, and learn new skills,” wrote another.
“I’ve look forward to learning, hearing from the speakers, … and collaborating [with] other passionate leaders. The conference is my yearly fuel,” shared a third social worker.
The event provides breakouts and general sessions that offer license-required CEs worth more than 23 ethics CEs, 6 Public Health Priorities CEs, and 4 LGBTQIA2S+ CEs to help Virginia and DC licensed social workers earn their minimum CE totals in those categories. Topics include use of fandom (such as Star Wars and Minecraft) in therapy, minimizing misdiagnoses, mental health and expressive arts, trauma, neurodiversity, aging, law, supervision, social justice issues, child and adolescent welfare, virtual reality, technology, fandom and therapy, financial well-being, domestic violence, “re-storying,” self-care, workplace boundary-setting, embracing compassion to overcome moral injury, threat assessments, disability rights, and more.
Read the full agenda here and then register here. Retirees and students receive the lowest rates! NASW members receive discounted rates, and all nonmember social workers are welcome and will pay the regular rate.
The event includes a Virtual Exhibitors Fair, as well as two on-demand general sessions as a way to earn additional CEs.
“Loved it! Great diversity of workshops and excellent presentations,” praised one In-Person Conference attendee.
