The Metro DC Chapter is one of 55 chapters of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the largest association of professional social workers in the United States. Our nearly 1,000 members serve all populations, including children, adolescents, families, older adults, immigrants, LGBTQ individuals, and others. They also serve clients in every DC ward and work setting, as well as in the DC metropolitan area such as Northern Virginia and nearby Maryland.

2025 NASW Metro DC Awards Are Now Open!


The NASW Metro DC Chapter is now accepting nominations for Social Worker of the Year, Lifetime Achievement in Social Work, BSW Student of the Year, MSW Student of the Year, and Citizen of the Year. Self-nominations are permitted.

This is a wonderful way to recognize your peers for outstanding excellence and commitment to the profession or to gain recognition for your own achievements. Visit the Call for Awards Nominations page for details. Deadline for nominations is February 10. Recipients will be honored at an Awards Luncheon during the in-person Annual Conference in March 2025.
