NASW Metro DC Chapter is proud to endorsing Elissa Silverman for At-Large Councilmember. As the largest professional association of social workers in the area, representing over 1,000 members, and thousands of professional social workers all over the country, we are looking forward to supporting her campaign leading up to the election.

Important to our legislative priorities in 2022 include, but are not limited to: racial, social and economic justice, ensuring affordable and accessible health care, juvenile and criminal justice, immigration protection, and regulatory matters that impact our profession. NASW-DC believes Elissa Silverman's platform aligns with the NASW core values- service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence.  This includes Elissa's efforts with Paid Family Leave, Worker Rights, Affordable Housing, and Hero Pay. NASW-DC is eager to begin working on our endorsement of Elissa and encourage our members to follow along with the endorsement, and volunteer for Elissa's campaign, along with any other activities that are deemed appropriate.
