During this highly interactive seminar, attendees will engage with other professionals to strengthen their foundation of today’s best practice knowledge and enhance their skills to function effectively in the critical role of clinical supervisor. Day 1 explores the games played in supervision, while Day 2 focuses on trauma-directed supervision. Participants may choose to take both days to meet the initial 14-hour supervision training requirement, or 1 day to meet the 7-hour renewal requirement.

Oftentimes after members take our popular Foundations of Supervision course and begin supervising LCSW candidates, new questions come up.

2. How do I navigate differences in opinion when my supervisee and I practice different modalities? 

3. What if my supervisee and I disagree on an approach due to our cultural differences? 

These types of questions are common, but also nuanced. Insight from one of our instructors and a group of your fellow supervisors can help. That’s why we developed our free, members-only “Peer Support for Supervisors” sessions. 

For these 1-1.5 hour-sessions, the instructor will select a general topic area to focus on and then solicit questions from registered participants prior to the session. The instructor will then use these pre-submitted questions to guide the session and lead the discussion.   

On January 21 the general topic area will be "Imposter Syndrome: Is your supervisee experiencing this and how do you support?" Please include your questions/scenarios around this topic in your registration. 

Supervisors will earn 1 Category I Contact Hour.

From "sticks and stones" to zero tolerance, many of us grew up under a variety of approaches to bullying... but can still feel unsure about how to respond to bullying between young people. This three-hour live webinar introduces participants to Adlerian concepts of inferiority and belonging, as applied to bullying and other types of peer-on-peer conflicts. Participants will apply concepts of thwarted belonging, perceived burdensomeness, social determinants of health, and racial-cultural identity development to case examples. Participants will also use formal and informal assessments to develop programs and policies for micro and mezzo social work practice in schools, clinics, and virtual spaces.

Upon completion of this course attendees will earn 3 Category I Contact Hours.
