Project 2025 vs. Project 2028? What has happened and what needs to be done?

Synopsis: Project 2025, the brainchild of The Heritage Foundation and staffers from President Trump’s first administration, is a blueprint for sweeping changes in the fabric of the United States. Executive actions from Trump’s first two years in office appear to have been taken almost directly from Project 2025 and more has been promised from this administration. Where are we almost 2 years in? How have social workers and other advocacy groups responded to infringements on the rights and well-being of individuals, groups, and families? What about the suggestions of a Project 2028, a Democratic response? The status of Project 2025’s implementation and the resistance to it continues to evolve, and this is the latest in a series of workshops addressing the changes.
Learning Objectives: By the conclusion of this workshop, participants will:
1. Increase their knowledge of the different components of Project 2025 and how specific sections impact vulnerable populations.
2. Discuss current actions being taken to advocate for and protect populations that we serve.
3. Identify areas where there is still need for support and advocacy.
4. Examine the existing components of Project 2028, evaluating potential strengths and remaining challenges.
