Course Description:
RAINN estimates that in the United States, someone experiences sexual violence every 68 seconds. This means that regardless of setting or practice type, social workers will encounter and work with survivors of sexual violence. It is vital that social workers feel equipped to support survivors no matter where the survivor is on their healing journey. In this workshop, participants will learn the research, theoretical and practical framework for sexual trauma, and evidenced based practices to ensure survivors receive appropriate support.
Learning Objectives:
- In this workshop we will address the definition of sexual violence, how it impacts relationships, and a framework to work with survivors of sexual violence
- Participants will learn about how to support survivors of sexual violence and will learn strategies to assist patient’s in accessing services
Upon completion of this course attendees will earn 2 Category I Contact Hours.

If a registrant cancels more than 10 days before the event, a refund will be issued by check or credit back to your credit card, minus a 10% administrative fee.
If cancelation occurs less than 10 days prior to the event, no refund will be issued but you may request a credit towards a future training to be used within 1 year of the cancelation date. Call the Chapter Office (804-204-1339) to cancel within 10 days of the training. A request for credit may be granted at the discretion of the Executive Director in case of a documented emergency.
